The longlist has been announced for the 2012 Hans Christian Anderson Award. The award is given every two years to one author and one illustrator. The awards are presented by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY). The shortlist will be announced March 10-11, 2012. The winners will be unveiled at a press conference at the Bologna Children's Book Fair on March 19, 2012.
The nominees for the United States are author Paul Fleischman and illustrator Chris Raschka.
